For the third year running, a Cultural Festival not to be missed – Lago Maggiore LetterAltura 2009: more than 80 events, from meetings with authors, performances, creative workshops and more than 130 national and international visitors to focus attention on the mountains and promote them as one of the global priorities of humanity; the only source of water that can be guaranteed a future for the next generation.
Joining us, among others, will be: Ermanno Olmi, Stefano Faravelli, Predrag Matvejevic, Furio Colombo, Irene Bignardi, Sergio Valzania, Marco Pastonesi, Lou Dalfin, Seamus Murphy e Patrick Desgraupes, Marco Albino Ferrari e Annibale Salsa, Marco Aime, Tom Dauer, Nicoletta Costa, Schubert, Anilda Ibrahimi, Remo Bodei, Claudio Chiappucci, Alex Bellini Fausto De Stefani, Manuel Lugli, Kurt Diemberger, Heinz Mariacher, Luisa Iovane e Marco Confortola.
The framework of the programme remains unchanged from last year: from breakfast in the morning to late night performances, the public will be able to meet the authors, participate in debates, reflect on our chosen themes and enjoy many other interesting activities.
In the programme, however, there are some interesting new activities that can be found in the online version.
THE SEASONS OF DINO BUZZATI: Writing lessons of a grand master. This year, Lago Maggiore LetterAltura honours Dino Buzzati by moments of depth and reflection around the literary production of the writer from Belluno. The programme provides that for two mornings, four participants (writers of fiction and non-fiction, journalists, experts) will alternate taking their ‘lessons’ inspired by some fundamental themes which serve to illuminate the works of the writer, investigating the woven strands between personal memory and memory of place, between history and text: The Beyond, The Correspondent, The Art, The Bicycle.
THEMATIC PATHS. Border, Bear, Resistence/Existence, Bicycle and Climbing: these are the themes that, following the common threads of the mountains, travel and adventure, have guided the inspiration of many of the activities of LetterAltura 2009.
KID’S SPACE! LetterAltura is a festival for everyone and this year has been dedicated particularly to children. Kids of all ages will be able to get involved by joining in our special activities provided just for them. These include: fun meetings with specific authors and a special night of entertainment without mum and dad, just for them.
Lago Maggiore LetterAltura 2009: an occasion to discover a wonderful territory together with well-known personalities of international culture.
